Warner Bros. is in final talks to buy “King Richard,” starring Will Smith that centers on the father of tennis stars and some of the greatest athletes in the history of sports with Venus and Serena Williams, according to Variety.
The film will focus on Richard Williams and the plethora of criticism he received molding his two daughters into phenoms of Tennis.
Will Smith’s return to a
Zach Baylin penned the script and will center on Richard Williams overcoming his own troubled past to instruct his daughters at the young age of four, even though Richard Williams has no experience in the sport.
Williams seemed to succeed, as his two daughters are some of the most dominant tennis players to ever live.
Serena Williams career achievements include 23 Grand Slam singles titles, whereas Venus Williams has seven Grand Slam singles, starting with Wimbledon in 2000.
The Williams Family, Will Smith nor Warner Bros. have commented on the negotiations.
