E3 was a huge success this year, with hype building up for properties owned by Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo! This year we got to see some cool new games that are sure to keep us entertained and glued to our screens for hours at a time. For a three day event, we needed three different blogs to recap and retell everything that was unleashed at the world’s biggest gaming convention and showcase!

Let’s kick things off with Nintendo! Nintendo is basically the Marvel of gaming culture. They are every close to the child in all of us, family friendly and EVERYONE knows who a Mario is. Every year they hype up a crowd and unleash only big guns, and this year was no exception. Here are some things they had to offer, that are just too good not to talk about.

1. Mario Tennis Aces

Mario can make any sport look cool! From Baseball, to go kart racing, the Winter and Summer Olympics (ok, those sport are all pretty cool ngl) who would’ve thought tennis was next? The premise for this game is pretty simple. Play by yourself against the computer, or play multiplayer (up to 4 players). Battle against other characters in tennis matches, and try to defeat big bads Waluigi and Wario. Remember how I compared Nintendo to Mario? Well the rabbit hole goes deeper, because when you play in adventure mode, you can play against the ‘legendary rocket’ which is this golden racket that is playing for 5 power stones. It’s basically the Infinity Gauntlet if the Infinity Gauntlet was a tennis racket and only consisted of the power stone X5. Available now for the Nintendo Switch!

2. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate

The sequel to the smash hit (pun intended) is coming to Nintendo Switch on December 7th! Just in time for Christmas *wink* *wink*! EVERY fighter from previous incarnations of Super Smash Bros. is in in Smash Bros. Ultimate, plus newcomers Inkling from Splatoon and Ridley from Metroid.  We’re talking Wolf, Ice Climbers, Digimon, Pac-Man…  the list goes on! This time you can also play with up to 8 players! Faster combat, new items, new attacks, new defensive options, and more battle arenas are sure to keep you on your toes, whether you are chilling at home, or on the go. PSA: Don’t Smash and drive!

3. Fortnite is Available for Nintendo Switch

Yes, it’s true! The game that took social media by a storm is now available for Nintendo Switch. You can now build forts and destroy the walls your enemy is hiding behind… on the Nintendo Switch! You can board the battle bus to visit your favourite zone, gear up and gather battle accessories… on the Nintendo Switch! You can also play by yourself, on up-to 100 players online…. on the Nintendo Switch! And they’ll also update the game weekly with new gameplay modes, outfits, weapons and items, so the fun never stops! Available for download now!

4. Daemon Machina

This new, fast-paced, mech action game is coming to Nintendo Switch in 2019! We don’t know to much about it yet, but the concept of it is blood-raising; the strategy of a mech game, with the speed of an action game. It is currently being developed by Kcnichiro Tsukuba, who you might know from the Armored Core series. His goal was to make this the “best mech action game ever!” Players are equipt with a customizable arsenal suit to fight enemies and ever changing threats in missions. Arsenals can battle freely on the ground, or in the air. Players can store weapons on the suit’s arms and shoulders, as well as backup weapons on the back, to make for convenient weapons swaps. You can also get weapons by downing those who have suffered your wrath. Oh, and EVERYTHING you see is a a weapon! Parked car? Weapon! Stop sign? Weapon! A kid walking his dog? WEAPON!!! With the full game being released next your player can play local or online multiplayer. WE ARE SOLD!!

5. Super Mario Party for Nintendo Switch

The Mario Party series is getting a relaunch, and what better way to do so than to reintroduce it on the Nintendo Switch! You can play by yourself against the computer, or with up to 4 players! There’s also a ton of cool modes you can play! We know about Mario Party where it’s the same board game style, but dialed up a notch with deeper strategic elements such as specific dice blocks for each character, as well as new boards. There is also Partner Party which is a co-op team battle with free grid movement, and finally Toad’s Rec Room, a dynamic new play style that allows you to pair TWO Nintendo Switch consoles for Tabletop mode. Including 80 new mini games, the party is available on October 5th 2018!

6. Fallout Shelter Available on Switch

Fallout Shelter puts you in control of a state-of-the-art underground Vault from Vault-Tec. Build the perfect Vault by selecting from a variety of modern day rooms to turn your excavation (that is located 2000 ft under bedrock) into your ideal #VaultLife. You can also put yourself in Mad-Titan Thanos’ boots and “see a community thrive and flourish.” And provide them with food, outfits, weapons and training! And every dweller has a unique skill set and different personality. You can use that to prosper and attract new dwellers to your community, or create new dwellers by playing matchmaker *Vault Boy wink* You can also explore outside the wasteland to gain armour and weapons, experience, and earn Caps. Oh, and post-nuclear life and mutants come to attack your vault from time to time, just warning you. Fallout Shelter is available for download now!
